I guess I started translating during my research work here in France since I wrote my own articles in both French and English and helped my French colleagues considerably when they wrote in English.
Since then I spent a couple of years (2005 – 2006) working for my parent’s translating business – Hutchings Traductions. With them I worked on various types of documents for major pharmaceutical companies (patents, market authorisations, scientific and medical articles, clinical trials, etc.) and research facilities.
As a freelance translator, I have recently translated for the French research organisations INSERM and CNRS as well as various university and hospital research units. I also work regularly for the INVS (French Institute for Public Health Surveillance) and the association “France Mederic Alzheimer”.
As to work concerning mountaineering and adventure sports, I have translated the entire website of a French trekking agency – Viamonts Voyages, the competition rules and regulations for the International Ski Mountaineering Federation and I have worked on a prevention campaign for avoiding mountaineering accidents with the local department of the French Ministry of Health, Youth and Sport.
