Helen Mundutéguy – Hutchings, Ph.D.
Although I spent most of my childhood in England, I have been living in France for the last twenty years. After a five year science degree in one of France’s “Grandes Ecoles”, I continued for a further three years of biomedical research obtaining a Ph.D. degree for my thesis “Bioavailability of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in the extracellular matrix”, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in medical genetics. My research work has been published in several international journals (see below).
My years of practical experience in the biomedical research field now mean that I have considerable analytical and technical expertise for specialised translations of biomedical / pharmaceutical documents. Not only do I know which technical terms should be used but I also and most importantly understand what the text means !
Today I work as both a freelance translator and bilingual mountain guide in the Pyrénées : a great quality of life that I transform to produce work of great quality.
